I don't know if your like me. You probably aren't, most people aren't me, Well, except me. But, sometimes I wish everyday was Sunday. We are told in Acts that the early church devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. And they were meeting "day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes". This is a beautiful picture. Of course I don't think we should try to replicate this today(besides I don't even know where the temple is in Lethbridge), but it is a great picture of what a healthy gathering of believers should look like. Sundays remind me of the one reason that I am not looking forward to making this Journey, leaving Lethbridge means leaving our church. River of Life church in Lethbridge is alot more than just a church to us, it is our Home. It is where we gather as a family to love and be loved. It is where we have grown to know the love of our Heavenly Father, where we have grown to understand who we are and the reason why He has called us. We plan to visit many churches on our Journey. We know that each one will be wonderfully unique, they will all have strengths and weaknesses, they may have different ways of worship, different styles of prayer, different methods for teaching, evangelism, and discipling. They will all be special and they will all be filled with people who Love Christ and are passionately pursuing him. But they will not be home. Home is a special place. Even though we are leaving on this Journey, and after that hope to leave for mission work in Africa, we are committed to ROL. Why? We have made a Covenant before God to be committed to this church body, and we plan to honor that covenant. Thats what being part of a family is all about. We are committed to our church and they are committed to us. We are the bride of Christ, walking in the Spirit of Christ, proclaiming the work of Christ, for the glory of Jesus the Christ. If you aren't committed to a home church and aren't attending regularily, I deeply urge you to. Is ROL perfect? Of course not. Neither are we. But will we stand together, in unity, with one heart and one mind despite our differences, our hurting, our pain, and our preferences? We will, and I hope you will too. Look to Christ, He is enough.
